Youth Performance Program

Overview

A progressive off-season training system designed to condition and enhance the physical abilities necessary to excel and succeed in sports. Athletes will be coached through fundamental strength training exercises, top speed running mechanics, multi-directional agility drills, and dynamic joint stabilization techniques. The program is divided into three phases, with each phase building on and progressing an athlete’s abilities from the prior phase. At the completion of the program all Zone Sports Performance Academy athletes will have a chance to compete in Zone’s Annual Sports Performance Combine. Zone Sports Performance Academy is not a general youth fitness program, it is designed for student athletes that have the ambition and desire to compete at the collegiate level.

Phase One

The initial phase focuses on improving an athlete’s general physical preparedness and correcting any muscular imbalances and improper movement patterns. Athletes will be introduced to proper weight lifting techniques, running mechanics, core stabilization exercises, change of direction drills, and beginner flexibility/mobility drills.

Phase Two

The second phase focuses on increasing an athlete’s maximal and relative strength, sprint start techniques, intermediate multi directional agility drills, dynamic core strength exercises, and intermediate flexibility/mobility drills.

Phase Three

The final phase focuses on increasing the athlete’s ability to display power and rate of force production, linear top speed running mechanics, advanced lateral deceleration and acceleration techniques, and advanced flexibility/mobility drills.
